For me, ballet class is a place for instant performance and surprise. It is a social dance where we get to constantly switch between spectator/supporter and exhibitionist of our immense capacities for movement. I have spent most of my life training to be a ballet dancer, and after 10 years of learning how to shed my ballet habits, I've come back to class with a new love and appreciation for it that has been transformative. There are infinite possibilities for approaching the form and I will share with you what has worked for me.
