This class will look at different ways of approaching practice and presence.
We will use guided phrase material, as well as participants won personal warm up, as playground to utilize various images, alignments, and coordinations, and foci. ( head/tail, head/ankles, PNF patterns, distal/core initiation, skeletal-muscular/organ, internal/external focus)
The aim is to develop and strengthen a flexible approach to "technique" that is applicable to various performance demands. The material and directions will be drawn from my experience with contemporary practices, the work of Irene Dowd, alexander, feldenkreis, Qigong, ballet, and gyrotonics.
We may end the class with large moving phrase work, or simple movement studies depending on the interest of participants on a given day.
