Workshop Description:

Strange Folk
Level: Open to all

A community dance class for a new generation of grannies and grandpas, mamas and papas, hipsters, hippies, folksters, suitsters--for the free-wheelin', dance-lovin' kid in all of us. Come learn strange folk: folk dancing with a contemporary twist. One part hoe-down, one part hora, one part polka, and all parts anything but square, this workshop blends new movement ideas with folk dancing patterns from Western, Eastern, and Middle Eastern traditions. Come raise a ruckus at this contra dance. No movement or musical experience necessary. Wear sneakers. Live music. Snacks and socializing following class.
